Chrissy Guest![]() In much the same way as the St Ives artists were inspired to paint the Cornish Coast, Chrissy finds herself drawn to the downland and coastline of Sussex. She doesn’t replicate precisely what she sees, more she conveys her emotive response to it. She always works towards abstraction, often with an exhausting enthusiasm towards an elusive goal. “Moments of inspiration are often brief and fleeting, I see a painting in almost everything. A simple piece of fabric blowing in the wind, transforming in sunlight and in shadow. The fragility of old and decaying objects and the immense satisfaction of watching a sky transform from light to darkness. It is these quickly passing moments of inspiration that I seek to capture in my work.” Chrissy Guest * Brighton Art Fair - Saffron Art Gallery - Oct '09 |
