Brenda Hartill RE

Brenda Hartill’s main love is abstracting the essence of the landscape, in richly coloured textured works, often enhanced with silver and gold leaf. Whilst renowned internationally for her print-making skills, her most recent work is a series of watercolours on handmade paper, embossed using her print-making techniques and presses. Brenda’s early New Zealand experiences encouraged an ongoing fascination with the power of the earth: earthquakes, volcanoes, geology, erosion, weather patterns & global warming. This fascination has long influenced her embossed abstract collagraphs and etchings, collages and mixed media encaustic works. A member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (RE), Brenda regularly exhibits in London and throughout the UK, and internationally in Spain, Australia and New Zealand. Her work is held in the collections of many large companies. Brenda wrote “Collagraphs and Mixed Media Printmaking” which is now in its third print run, and is currently working on a series of instructional DVDs.
